ALL ABOUT MATY'S
Maty's was named after Nanay Marty Balanag Salazar who owned the first and main store in Don Galo Parañaque. During her young age, Nanay Maty shows interest in cooking and selling different Filipino famous snacks. It was her father Monico Balanag taught her the secret recipe of the most famous tapa in town. During mid-60's, Nanay Maty together with his husband Mr. Frederico Salazar Jr. started making history by making Don Galo the tapsilog capital of the country today.
1998, Nanay Maty's son Mr. Gerry Salazar together with his wife Mrs. Epifania Salazar took over the operation of the main store in Don Galo. Nanay Maty run the other two branches in Don Galo. Nanay Maty and her husband passed away 2005 and the other two stores in the same area were turn over to her other sons Mr. Carlos Salazar, Mr. Henry Salazar and Mr. Wilfredo Salazar. One branch in Molino, Bacoor, Cavite own by Mr. Henry Salazar. Another branch in Sucat Parañaque own by Mr. Billy Jay Basilio and Mrs. Cherrylene Salazar Basilio.
Many were asking if it was "tapang kabayo", it wasn't. Maty's beef tapa has a blend of secret spices that only people behind their kitchen can properly mix.
